by the time Istvan Bozsik had started his quest to reach his 6 million !

Wade VanLandingham was handed over the torch by Jason Doucette
and Wade informs me that he reached a staggering
34 million (well nearly!) digits in the 196 quest.

Wade likes to promote all the numbers that do not form palindromes
by reversing & adding their digits as Lychrel Numbers,
196 being the obvious first, then 879, 1997, etc.
